Louise Demers, Ph.D, OT(C). Dr. Demers is Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation at the Université de Montréal. She is a Scientist at the Research Centre of the Montreal Geriatric University Institute in Montreal, Quebec, and Director of a laboratory on outcomes measures in geriatric rehabilitation and assistive technology.  Dr. Demers has authored many research articles related to assistive technology, outcomes measures, geriatric rehabilitation, and social participation.

Frank DeRuyter, Ph.D.  Dr. DeRuyter is Professor in the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Speech Pathology & Audiology at Duke University Medical Center.  In addition, he is Principal Investigator of the NIDRR Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Communication Enhancement (AAC-RERC).  His interest is in outcomes and performance monitoring within AT/AAC service delivery systems including development and utilization of platform independent and web-based outcome data collection/capture tools.   Dr. DeRuyter has authored numerous publications, presented extensively at international/national conferences, and served on various committees, advisory and editorial boards.

Marcus J. Fuhrer, Ph.D.  Dr. Fuhrer is Scientist Emeritus, National Institutes of Health.  He is past director of the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research, National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, National Institutes of Health.  Prior to that, he was Professor in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and in Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine; Vice President for Research at The Institute for Rehabilitation & Research (TIRR); and past president of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine & of the National Association of Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers.  His research emphases are on the outcomes of medical rehabilitation practices and assistive technology interventions.

Jeffrey W. Jutai, PhD, CPsych.  Dr. Jutai is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa.  His research is focused on factors that affect outcomes from using assistive technology devices, including how devices are prescribed and how patients are educated in their use.  He directs a program of research on measuring the impact of assistive technologies for persons who have physical and sensory disabilities.   He is co-author (with Dr. Hy Day) of the Psychosocial Impact of Assistive Devices Scale (PIADS).

James A. Lenker, PhD, OTR/L, ATP.  Dr. Lenker is Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science, School of Public Health & Health Professions, University at Buffalo. He has dual backgrounds in occupational therapy and engineering and directs the Graduate Certificate Program in Assistive Technology and the AT Research Laboratory.  Dr. Lenker is a Co-Investigator on three NIDRR research grants including the RERC on Universal Design, the RERC on Accessible Public Transportation, and CATOR.  He has active AT outcomes research projects in wheeled mobility and seating, transportation, and computer accommodation technologies. He has served on RESNA’s Board of Directors and the Editorial Board for the journal Assistive Technology.
